“Highland Bakery is at home amongst the small shops, creative residents, and unique atmosphere that make up this historic district. The new identity aims to embrace the eclectic and welcoming feel of the restaurant while being neither disparate nor cutesy. Fabric, chipboard, and masonite textures provide a subtle tactility, and mismatched items are tied together through common brand elements.”
I am a designer with a background in painting and drawing, and recent transplant to New York from Atlanta. After years of sketching alphabets in lectures and being discouraged from putting type in my paintings, I discovered a place where these things were encouraged and made my transition to the world of design. I enjoy working on everything from branding, to packaging, to type design, with a particular fondness for hand-lettering and creating type-driven books.
